Winter Never Stops Us

Sean Coyle played his last match with us (for a short while, we hope); he moved back to Arkansas with his new bride; for those who are wondering, they play the wrong kind of football down there. See you soon, Sean!

In some circles, it’s fashionable to put away the cleats as soon as the temperatures dip below 60. That’s not our thing. Just because the sun’s arc is a little bent and challenged from November through March doesn’t mean we can’t look at the sky and smile.

So, we play — all winter. (See the gallery below from a recent match.)

This winter, that meant matches on turf at Fairfax High School. It’s a gem.

As always, thanks to Gary Dize for these awesome photos. Gary shoots for the Washington Nationals, so we are humbled each time he decides to come out and snap a few action shots of our time on the pitch.

We’ll switch to Van Dyke Park (and grass) in the coming weeks, so we hope you can join us. As usual, no experience required. We can teach you the game in 7 minutes…2 of which will be spent telling you how much fun you’ll have. (We only speak the truth in these parts.)

See you soon.
